Itinerary

DAY 1 : Casablanca – Fes

Your private 8-day tour starts with a driver picking you up from your hotel in Casablanca. We’ll explore some of the city’s main cultural sights before departing for Fes, where you’ll stay overnight in a riad or hotel.

Today we explore the oldest city in Morocco, winding through its narrow alleys and streets. Highlights include the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter where Morocco’s first Mellah was established in the 16th century, and the Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region. Visits also include the Tanneries, Attarine Museum, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you’ll explore local cooperatives and enjoy a panoramic view over the entire Medina before returning to your riad for the night.

After breakfast, depart Fes through the scenic Mid-Atlas region, passing Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Stop in Azrou to explore the cedar forests and feed the Berber apes. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then follow the Ziz River and the Ziz Gorge, passing Erfoud and Rissani with a stop at the local souk. Arrive in Merzouga in the evening for an overnight stay at a local hotel.

After breakfast, explore the Erg Chebbi Dunes and the surrounding desert region. Visit the “black village” of Khamlia for a Gnawa music performance, and enjoy a traditional Berber pizza lunch in Rissani. In the afternoon, ride camels across the dunes to watch the sunset before returning to your desert camp for a traditional tagine dinner, mint tea, and Berber music under the starry Sahara sky.

Rise early to witness the desert sunrise, then return on camelback to the village. Depart for Tinghir to see the Todra Gorge, the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco, with optional hiking. After lunch, continue to the Dades Gorge, stopping to admire unique geological formations known as “monkey toes.” Overnight at a local hotel or riad in Dades Gorge.

Drive through the route of a thousand Kasbahs, stopping in Kalaat Mgouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses, for lunch. Continue to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, then cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass over the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakesh for an overnight stay at a riad or hotel.

Spend a full day exploring Marrakesh’s main attractions, including Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia Mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. Explore other areas like Gueliz, the Menara Gardens, and Majorelle Gardens. Lunch is included, with free time to further enjoy the city before returning to your accommodation.

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy the morning exploring lesser-known areas of Marrakesh and have lunch at a local restaurant before being transferred to Casablanca airport or hotel, marking the end of your tour.
