Itinerary

DAY 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Rissani – Merzouga

Your private tour begins with a scenic drive through the Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop in the charming town of Ifrane and visit the famous cedar forest, home to the wild Barbary apes. The journey continues through the Tiz Ntalghamt Pass and the spectacular Ziz Gorge, where we’ll pause for photos and a refreshing cup of mint tea, before reaching Midelt. By evening, we arrive in Merzouga, where dinner and an overnight stay in a local Riad await.

This day is dedicated to discovering the beauty of the Sahara around the Erg Chebbi dunes. We’ll experience the nomadic lifestyle and witness the desert’s unique contrasts. A stop in the village of Khamlia introduces us to the captivating rhythms of Gnawa music. Later, we’ll enjoy a traditional Berber pizza for lunch in the historic town of Rissani. As the sun sets, we’ll embark on a camel trek across the dunes to our desert camp. The evening includes a Tagine dinner, mint tea, Berber music around the campfire, and stargazing under the desert sky.

After sunrise, we return to a local hotel for breakfast and a chance to freshen up before setting off toward Ouarzazate. En route, we’ll explore traditional Berber villages and marvel at the dramatic Todra Gorge. Our journey continues to the Dades Gorge, where we’ll settle into a local hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Following breakfast, we’ll travel along the famed “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses, known for its annual Rose Festival. From there, we continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a fortified ksar celebrated as a filming location for movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia, as well as the HBO series Game of Thrones. Crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass, we’ll arrive in Marrakech for dinner and an overnight stay in a local hotel.

Our final day is devoted to exploring Marrakech, the vibrant “Red City.” Highlights include the famous Jemaa el Fna Square, Koutoubia Mosque, bustling souks, the Royal Palace, and several museums. We’ll also discover the modern district of Gueliz, with visits to the Menara Gardens and Majorelle Garden. The tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
