Itinerary

DAY 1 : Arrival – Casablanca

Your 10-day private desert tour from Casablanca begins with a transfer from the airport to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore some of Casablanca’s highlights, including the Hassan II Mosque, the Moroccan Mall shopping center, and a nearby beach area.

This morning, if time permits, we can complete sightseeing in Casablanca. After lunch, we drive to Meknes, a former imperial city surrounded by Morocco’s wine region. From Meknes, we continue to the Roman ruins of Volubilis to explore its ancient mosaics and ruins. We then proceed to Fes for an overnight stay at a local riad or hotel.

Today is dedicated to discovering Fes, Morocco’s spiritual capital. Highlights include the Medieval Medina, Nejjarine Fountain, Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque (external visits). Enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant in the heart of the Medina, then explore the souks and Fes Jdid before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast, we depart for Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco,” then continue to Midelt. Passing through the Ziz Valley, we reach Erfoud, famous for its fossil products, with the option to learn more about them. Next, we visit the historic souk in Rissani before arriving in Merzouga, where we stay overnight at a hotel on the edge of the desert dunes.

After breakfast, we head to a desert checkpoint, trade in the 4×4 for camels (optional), and ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes with an experienced guide. After around 90 minutes, we arrive at the desert camp to enjoy a spectacular sunset. The night is spent in traditional Berber tents under the stars.

Early morning, we catch the sunrise over the dunes before freshening up at a local hotel and having breakfast. Then, we travel via Rissani and Tinghir to Todra Gorge, Morocco’s highest and narrowest gorge. After lunch, we continue through the Dades Valley and admire the “Monkey Toes” geological formation. Overnight stay in Dades Valley.

Today we drive through Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate, known as “the African Hollywood,” with optional visits to a film studio and Kasbah. Next, we explore the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech for an overnight stay.

A full day to explore Marrakech, including Jamma el Fna Square, Koutoubia Mosque, the souks, palaces, museums, Gueliz, Menara Gardens, and the Majorelle Museum. After lunch, enjoy free time for shopping or optional experiences like a hammam. Dinner at Jamma el Fna Square or at your hotel/riad.

Take a guided day trip to Essaouira, a historic Atlantic coastal city with 18th-century ramparts and a relaxed medina. Return to Marrakech for the final overnight stay.

After breakfast, we transfer you to Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport, marking the end of your 10-day desert and imperial cities tour.
